WOODFORD RESIDENCE

A 'light-touch' ground floor extension and garden room in Woodford.

The brief for this Locally Listed family home involved extending the ground floor; but without impacting the recently refurbished kitchen and dining room. By transforming the existing rear facade openings into meaningful thresholds, the new living space creates an enhanced connection with the rear garden.

A raised terrace addresses uncomfortable level changes on the site; utilising raised planters and integrated seating to create a seamless flow from inside to outside. Earthy toned Petersen bricks from Denmark reference the hand made historic clay tiles on the existing building; and carefully configured glazed elements frame selected views of both garden and sky.
